First week of the month, nothing weird there.

Medco, according to Walgreens, said that I had no coverage for the month of December. I was set and good to go for January, but no meds for Amy for December.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. I go home, do a med count. I'm ok on Zonegran for a bit and I see Dr Gerber Thursday so if it got to it I could get samples from her, but I'm out of Busbar. That at least is the $25 one, easier to deal with than $165.

Sorry, you fail. I have epilepsy, you can't just not give me my medication. So I call their CSC. "Everything is fiiiiiine, Mrs Kelly, have them call our helpdesk if it happens again."

Note the "Mrs" Kelly. I think there was only one person I talked to at Medco that DIDN'T call me "Mrs" in all three departments I got transferred to.

I go back to Walgreens on Sunday and try to get my meds. Nope, still says I'm not covered this month. I have the pharmacist call the helpdesk, and they get told the same thing they were told on Friday. I have no coverage. The pharmacist hands me the phone, the person tells me the same thing, and then transfers me to member services.

"Mrs Kelly, ma'am, we're really sorry this has happened to you, I need to transfer you to Enrollment."

At about this point, I'm torn between RAGE at what is happening, and trying to not bust out laughing at hearing the same lines I used to use on a pissed caller used on me. I wasn't rude to the people in the call center, but they were totally using that tone you use to try to keep someone calm. I finally end up in Benefits, where the lady swore up and down it would be fixed in 48 hours. And lo and behold, it appeared to be so when I was able to get into parts of the website that had been locked out and telling me that I wasn't a covered member under that plan, so yay. I call to confirm. "Yes, Mrs Kelly, and again, we're very sorry." "Can you tell me WHY this happened? Was it something that happened on my end?" "Let me check." "Benefits says that it was a system error, Mrs Kelly. You should be just fine now, thank you for your patience."

Yup, the dreaded system error. Now that it's mostly resolved, I can see the LULZ, but at the time it was uncool. But wait! There's an epilogue!

I FINALLY get to go to Walgreens to get my Zonegran, right? My full bottle has somehow turned into a partial and they don't have anymore in the store. Won't be getting more until tomorrow. I had him check the other Walgreens, and they had it in stock at 39th and Belmont, so they transferred it there. It took five days, two stores, and more shitty hold music than I care to remember, but I HAVE MY ZONEGRAN.

And then I went to ADS to see what they could find out about it. My caseworker stuck me in a room for an hour waiting for someone who was in a meeting. I got like an inch done on my bag? I left, pissed at the caseworker, and planning on calling Ellen and telling her that I wasn't going to be in at Rose Haven because my butt was going to be in a chair at 8:00AM, I wasn't going to CALL.

But this tale of woe has a happy ending.

The person I needed to talk to CALLED ME. And was SUPER helpful. She updated a bunch of stuff for me that should have been done at intake, is going to research it from their end, and offered to go over other drug plans with me. I asked her how to file a complaint, she gave me some starting points, and hopefully I'll hear back next week about what actually happened. But hey, it put me in contact with this person? She's way more what I need than the dude they have me assigned to, I don't get any other services and I've got weird medical.

http://elderaffairs.state.fl.us/shine/docs/ComplaintsTipSheet0806.pdf

test post is testy
